So the world cup is of to a raring start in South Africa and the country says its all set to go.We boasting world class stadiums;trains and connectivity;safety and security;food and items unique to SA.
Having just arrived back in the country after a 6 month steth overseas one get a fresh view of some things that have not changed.
Our world class corporates still cant get it right when it comes to customer services and delivery. The world class telekoms cannot get a technician out to my home office to fix the adsl line and telephone line which is at the heart and soul of my business and they still trying to allocate a technician.(LOL) . To be sacartic all techinicians must be scooper diving to try and pull the cable from across the ocean so that we could have a bigger pipe and down load speed for the world class sadiums and fan parks. To take my pain on step further; vodacom deleted my sim card and number from there system cause they saw it fit to do so unilaterally as they are a world class telekoms or mobile phone solution provider and i pun on the word solution provider!.
The world class decision they took was thay it wasnt really important that i was a loyal customer to them since 1995 and or the fact that i have to date spent with them in excess of R300 000.00 on once account these world class facts did not matter cause joe soap at vodacom thought it in the best interest to perhaps send a sms and then no other communication and just go ahead and delete the number and was i really in arrears?
Now try asking these two world class companies to get you back into the system and get you going a Aweek has gone more bills are piling up trying to speak to the correct person and still telkom is allocating a techinican as soon as he swims back to shore and vodacom is trying to find out who i am?? !!! . To top things off there accounts i.e vodacom accounts dept wants all my details again .So they didnt even check if i had a corporate account with them they have not bothered to check any of my history and or even try to treat me as a customer. Now you start to ask yourself can a world class vodacom know any thing about world class service and that irrespective of whether you are a small client or that top corporate client things can wait cause you are so after entertaining and gifting free soccer tickets to your special clients and lunches to tantamounts to a world class experince in our beloved country South Africa.
The ceo of telkom is about to get the boot and the next guy god be with him or her cause there is alot to clean up and both companies to remind themselves that service begins at home to your people and your citizens who so cheerish to hopefully one day be treated with dignity and respect as so rightfully is our consitutional right .
Well done to our world class companies; we will not forget this learning curve when we grow up and come face to face with the monopolies on our country.
